Architecture

HKM offers the full range of services related to building design and can contribute to all phases of the design process. For both new construction and renovations, our services are tailored to meet the specific needs of the project and the experience level of the client. From initial concept through construction and occupancy, we assist with programming, code analysis, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, permitting, and construction administration.

Planning

Available independently or in conjunction with Architecture, HKM provides Planning services for large and small-scale projects. We help assess the viability of a project in the beginning stages with a site analysis, quick density studies and concept plans. Whether interested in a master planning exercise or site design for an individual parcel, we develop layouts to address optimal access to the site, vehicular and pedestrian circulation throughout the property, opportunities for open space, and how the project relates to surrounding properties and the greater community.

Landscape Architecture

HKM’s Landscape Architecture services focus on creating welcoming outdoor environments. Key to successful exterior spaces, we balance the importance of a practical solution with an enjoyable experience. HKM provides expertise in designing hardscape features including site walls, fire pits, fountains, patios and paved areas, in addition to identifying softscape plantings and specifying site furnishings.

Entitlement

Entitlement consists of obtaining the legal approvals needed for property development. HKM supports the owner’s project team with services that include zoning review, planning studies, preliminary building design, submittal exhibits, and participation in public hearings. Beginning with initial meetings to discuss ideas with the municipality through obtaining the final approval to proceed, we become an active partner in the overall process.

Interior Architecture

Applying an architectural aesthetic to interior design, HKM aims to create indoor environments that contribute to the health and well-being of people using the space. The services we offer encompass space planning, tenant layouts, interior build-outs, and finish selections.
